A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Mobile AL. The alert is effective from 6:46 AM CDT until 7:45 AM CDT on May 24, 2026.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Western Choctawhatchee Bay, Eastern Choctawhatchee Bay, Coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola FL out 20 NM, and Waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola FL from 20 to 60 NM. Impacted locations include West Choctawhatchee Bay, Highway 331 Bridge, Okaloosa Deep Water Reef, Shalimar, Fort Walton Liberty Ship Reef, Destin, East Pass At Destin, East Choctawhatchee Bay, Okaloosa Pier, and Mid Bay Bridge.

Expected Conditions
At 6:45 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 7 nm north of Mary Esther to near Okaloosa Deep Water Reef to 27 nm southeast of Oriskany Reef to 47 nm south of Fort Walton Liberty Ship Reef, moving east at 25 knots. Hazards include waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
