Alert Details
A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans. The alert is effective from May 8 at 5:06 PM CDT until May 8 at 6:30 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Barataria Bay, Coastal Waters from Boothville LA to Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River out 20 nm, and Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM. Locations impacted include Barataria Bay and Grand Isle.

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 13 nm northeast of Barataria Bay to 9 nm northwest of Grand Isle, moving southeast at 15 knots. Hazards include waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
