Alert Details
A Special Marine Warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi TX at 5:46 AM CDT on June 21, 2026. The alert is effective immediately and expires at 6:45 AM CDT on June 21, 2026.
Affected Areas
The warning covers San Antonio, Mesquite, and Espiritu Santo Bays; Coastal waters from Baffin Bay to Port Aransas out 20 NM; Coastal waters from Port Aransas to Matagorda Ship Channel out 20 NM; Waters from Baffin Bay to Port Aransas from 20 to 60 NM; and Waters from Port Aransas to Matagorda Ship Channel from 20 to 60 NM. Locations impacted include Seadrift and Port Oconnor.
What You Should Do
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. If caught on the open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded metal objects. Make sure all on board are in a secure location and wearing life jackets.
Expected Conditions
A line of strong thunderstorms located 23 nm east of Rockport, moving north at 30 knots, is capable of producing waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.
