A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX. The alert is effective from June 21 at 3:00 AM CDT until June 21 at 4:30 AM CDT.

The warning covers Matagorda Bay and coastal waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX out 20 NM. Locations impacted include Brazos 400, Tabs Buoy W, Matagorda Ship Channel, Turtle Bay, Brazos 439, Brazos 490, East Matagorda Bay, Matagorda Island 557, Matagorda Jetty, and Palacios Bay.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 14 nm southwest of Matagorda Island 557, moving northeast at 30 knots. Hazards include waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.
