The warning covers Southwestern Meade County, Southeastern Lawrence County, and Central Pennington County in west central South Dakota. Locations impacted include Rapid City, Hill City, Rapid Valley, Ellsworth Air Force Base, Box Elder, Summerset, Black Hawk, New Underwood, Johnson Siding, Keystone, Piedmont, Hisega, Elm Springs, Caputa, Hayward, Rockerville, Farmingdale, Pactola Reservoir, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, and Rapid City Airport. Expected Conditions
At 5:59 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Summerset to 2 miles east of Hisega to 2 miles northeast of Palmer Gulch Resort, moving east at 40 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
