A Severe Thunderstorm Warning (SVR) has been issued by the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City NC. The alert is effective from 3:43 PM EDT on June 14, 2026, until 4:30 PM EDT on June 14, 2026.

At 3:43 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Royal, or 19 miles southeast of River Road, moving northeast at 15 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and hail up to 0.75 inches. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm.
