A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service Goodland KS on May 16 at 6:36 PM MDT. The alert is effective from 2026-05-16T18:36:00-06:00 until 2026-05-16T19:45:00-06:00.

Expected Conditions
Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles southwest of Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area to 6 miles northwest of Atwood to 11 miles southeast of McDonald, moving northeast at 45 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail (1.00 inch). Hail damage to vehicles is expected along with wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

The warning is in effect until 7:45 PM MDT on May 16, 2026. Severe thunderstorms will be near Atwood and Stratton around 7:40 PM CDT and Trenton around 7:55 PM CDT. Other locations in the path include Palisade, Ludell and Culbertson.
