Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Quad Cities IA IL (NOAA). Effective from June 10, 2026 at 5:53 PM CDT until June 10, 2026 at 6:45 PM CDT. Alert type code: SVR.
Affected Areas
Mercer County in northwestern Illinois; Southwestern Rock Island County in northwestern Illinois; Southeastern Louisa County in southeastern Iowa; Southern Muscatine County in east central Iowa. Locations impacted include Rock Island, Muscatine, Aledo, Wapello, Milan, Andalusia, Fruitland, Viola, Millersburg, Matherville, New Boston, Grandview, Reynolds, Eliza, Joy, Oak Grove, Letts, Oakville, Amber, and Shale City. This includes Interstate 280 between mile markers 11 and 14.

Remain alert for a possible tornado. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Move indoors immediately due to continuous cloud to ground lightning. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Expected Conditions
At 5:53 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Cranston to near Letts to Marsh, moving east at 50 mph. Hazards include 70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail (0.75 inch). Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Torrential rainfall may lead to flash flooding. Tornadoes are possible.
