Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Phoenix AZ. Effective from 2026-05-25T13:39:00-07:00 until 2026-05-25T14:00:00-07:00 (MST). Alert type code: SVW.
Affected Areas
Gila County in east central Arizona and Maricopa County in south central Arizona. Locations impacted include Roosevelt, Roosevelt Dam, and Tonto National Monument. This includes AZ Route 188 between mile markers 236 and 247.
What You Should Do
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Roosevelt Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
