Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS State College PA. Effective from June 6, 2026 at 4:30 PM EDT until June 6, 2026 at 5:30 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
Cumberland County and Franklin County in south central Pennsylvania. Locations impacted include Chambersburg, Carlisle, Waynesboro, Shippensburg, Greencastle, Guilford, Plainfield, St. Thomas, Schlusser, Boiling Springs, Fayetteville, and Mount Holly Springs. Includes the Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile markers 187 to 229 and Interstate 81 from mile markers 1 to 53.

Expected Conditions
At 4:26 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Colonel Denning State Park to near Newville to Shippensburg to Fannettsburg to St. Thomas to McConnellsburg, moving east at 35 mph. Hazards include 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. A second line of severe storms will follow by about 30 minutes.
