Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Goodland KS. Effective from August 13 at 7:01 PM MDT until August 13 at 8:00 PM MDT. Alert type code: SVR.
Affected Areas
Eastern Cheyenne County in east central Colorado; Wichita County, southern Wallace County, and Greeley County in west central Kansas. Locations impacted include Leoti, Cheyenne Wells, Tribune, Weskan, Horace, Selkirk, and Marienthal. Includes Highway 385 between mile markers 136 and 162.
What You Should Do
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Expected Conditions
At 7:00 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Eads to 7 miles southeast of Towner to 11 miles north of Syracuse, moving northeast at 35 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail (1.00 inch). Radar indicated.
