Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Lincoln IL. Effective from August 13 at 12:50 PM CDT until August 13 at 1:45 PM CDT. Alert type code: SVR.
Affected Areas
De Witt County, northeastern Logan County, McLean County, north central Macon County, and southeastern Woodford County in central Illinois. Specific locations include Hudson, Danvers, Stanford, Carlock, Bloomington, Normal, Lincoln, Lexington, Atlanta, McLean, Towanda, Waynesville, Heyworth, Downs, Beason, Colfax, Wapella, Chestnut, Clinton, Le Roy, Kenney, and Maroa. Highways impacted: Interstate 39 (mile markers 0-18), Interstate 55 (mile markers 124-125 and 128-187), Interstate 74 (mile markers 118-155). Also affects Clinton Lake State Recreation Area, Moraine View State Park, and Weldon Springs State Park.

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Move indoors immediately due to large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud-to-ground lightning. Do not drive through flooded roadways.

At 12:49 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms located along a line from near Secor to near New Holland, moving east at 45 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail (0.88 inch). Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Torrential rainfall may lead to flash flooding.
