Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Springfield MO. Effective from June 17 at 6:50 PM CDT until June 17 at 7:30 PM CDT. Alert type code: SVW.
Affected Areas
Northwestern Cedar County, southwestern St. Clair County, and northeastern Vernon County in southwestern and west central Missouri. Locations impacted include El Dorado Springs, Walker, Schell City, Roscoe, Harwood, Tiffin, Horton, Taberville, Caplinger Mills, Cedar Springs, and Monegaw Springs. Storm was located near Schell City or 9 miles southeast of Rich Hill.
What You Should Do
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Truman Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Move to safe shelter now if you can hear thunder.
Expected Conditions
At 6:50 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Schell City moving east at 35 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail (1.00 inch). Hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees expected.
