A Severe Thunderstorm Warning (SVR) has been issued by the National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN. The alert is effective from May 17 at 8:49 PM CDT until May 17 at 9:45 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Eastern Blue Earth County, Northeastern Faribault County, Northwestern Freeborn County, and Western Waseca County in south central Minnesota. Locations impacted include Minneopa State Park, Mapleton, Skyline, Delavan, Mankato, Easton, Minnesota Lake, Eagle Lake, St. Clair, Pemberton, Waldorf, Smiths Mill, Alma City, Brush Creek, Wells, Janesville, Matawan, Baroda, Otisco and Freeborn.

Expected Conditions
At 8:49 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 5 miles south of North Mankato to near Blue Earth, moving east at 25 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail (1.25 inches). Hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees are expected.
