Union County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... * Until 700 PM EDT. * At 558 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Monroe, moving slowly east at 5 mph. The storm is likely to eventually begin moving southward. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Monroe, Unionville, Wingate, Marshville, Lake Park, Sturdivants, Trinity, New Salem, Hemby Bridge, and Fairview In Union County.
