Alert Details
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning (SVR) has been issued by the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley NE. The alert is effective from May 17, 2026 at 6:18 PM CDT until May 17, 2026 at 7:00 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers southeastern Platte County in northeastern Nebraska. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Monroe to 4 miles west of Silver Creek to 4 miles southwest of Clarks, moving east at 35 mph. The storms will be near Duncan around 6:25 PM CDT and Columbus and Lakeview around 6:30 PM CDT.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 11:00 PM CDT for northeastern and east central Nebraska. Seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. If caught outdoors, cover your head and neck. People and animals outdoors will be injured.
