Affected Areas

Gage County, Jefferson County, southwestern Lancaster County, and Saline County in southeastern Nebraska. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles south of Friend to 4 miles southeast of Plymouth to 3 miles west of Odell.

What You Should Do

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Expected Conditions

60 mph wind gusts and hail up to 0.75 inches. Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Alert effective August 16 at 4:23 AM CDT and expires August 16 at 5:15 AM CDT. Storms moving east at 40 mph. Severe thunderstorms will be near Beatrice, Wilber, De Witt, and Odell around 4:30 AM CDT; Wymore, Dorchester, Blue Springs, and Holmesville around 4:35 AM CDT; Crete, Clatonia, and Pickrell around 4:40 AM CDT; and other locations including Hallam.
