Locations impacted include Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, Big Alkali Lake State Wildlife Management Area, Highway 83 crossing Goose Creek, and Highway 83 crossing the North Loup River. Highways affected: Highway 20 between mile markers 210 and 211; Highway 97 between mile markers 95 and 114; Highway 83 between mile markers 170 and 199.

At 1:36 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles south of Merritt Reservoir, or 31 miles southwest of Valentine, moving east at 35 mph.
