A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service in North Platte NE. The alert is effective from August 12 at 1:02 AM CDT until August 12 at 1:45 AM CDT.

Northeastern Cherry County in north central Nebraska. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Kilgore to 7 miles northwest of Merritt Reservoir, moving southeast at 30 mph. Severe thunderstorms will be near Merritt Reservoir around 1:10 AM CDT and Valentine around 1:25 AM CDT. Other locations impacted include Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River, Crookston, Anderson Bridge State Wildlife Management Area, Big Alkali Lake State Wildlife Management Area, and Schlagel Creek State Wildlife Management Area. This includes Highway 20 between mile markers 175 and 205, Highway 97 between mile markers 109 and 141, Highway 83 between mile markers 196 and 222, and Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 12.
