SVRABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... East Central Harding County in northeastern New Mexico... Southeastern Union County in northeastern New Mexico... * Until 1030 PM MDT. * At 1000 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Amistad, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Amistad and Hayden.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
