Alert Details
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service Albuquerque NM. The alert is effective from August 7 at 7:56 PM MDT until August 7 at 8:45 PM MDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers East Central Guadalupe County, Central Quay County, South Central Harding County, and Southeastern San Miguel County in New Mexico. Impacted locations include Tucumcari, Quay, Logan, Ragland, Montoya, Ute Lake State Park, and Forrest. Affected highways include Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 305 and 352 and State Road 104 between Mile Markers 89 and 105.

Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail (1.25 inches). Hail damage to vehicles is expected along with wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Torrential rainfall is also occurring.
