East Central Pima County in southeastern Arizona... * Until 130 PM MST. * At 1255 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Summit, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Tucson, Sahuarita, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Vail, Corona De Tucson, East Sahuarita, San Xavier Community, Summit, Tucson International Airport and Rita Ranch. This includes the following highways... Interstate 19 between mile markers 44 and 56. Interstate 10 between mile markers 267 and 284. Route 83 between mile markers 55 and 58.

What the agency told people to do

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
