Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Indianapolis IN. Effective from August 11 at 1:09 PM EDT until August 11 at 2:00 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
Northeastern Clinton County in central Indiana, Howard County in central Indiana, and Tipton County in central Indiana. Locations impacted include Kokomo, Tipton, Windfall, Greentown, Russiaville, Sharpsville, Kempton, and Indian Heights.
What You Should Do
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Expected Conditions
At 1:09 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Mexico to near Walton to near Delphi, moving southeast at 55 mph. Hazards include 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
