Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by NWS Lincoln IL. Effective from June 21, 2026 at 4:52 PM CDT until June 21, 2026 at 5:45 PM CDT.

Affected Areas

Southwestern Jasper County in southeastern Illinois, Northwestern Clay County in south central Illinois, and Southern Effingham County in south central Illinois. The storm was located over Edgewood, 16 miles southwest of Effingham, and will be near Mason around 5:00 PM CDT and Bible Grove around 5:10 PM CDT. Includes Interstate 57 between mile markers 142 and 151.

What You Should Do

Remain alert for a possible tornado. If you spot a tornado, go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Expected Conditions

60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail (1.00 inch). Hail damage to vehicles expected. Wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees possible. Storm moving east at 35 mph.
