Affected Areas
Northwestern Cherry County in north central Nebraska and northeastern Sheridan County in the Panhandle of Nebraska. Locations impacted include Merriman, Hoover Lake, Highway 61 Crossing The Niobrara River, Irwin, Intersection of Highway 20 and Irwin Road, Shell Lake State Wildlife Management Area, and Bayonne. Highways affected: Highway 20 between mile markers 112 and 146; Highway 61 between mile markers 215 and 231.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Move indoors immediately. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm.
Expected Conditions
At 603 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wakpamni, or 14 miles northeast of Gordon, moving southeast at 15 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail (1.25 inches). Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
