Alert Details
The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. This alert is effective immediately and was issued on April 11, 2026, at 2:13 PM MDT.
Affected Areas
The warning affects northeastern Cache County and northwestern Rich County in northern Utah. Specific locations include Logan, Laketown, Hyrum, Garden City, Garden, Utah State University, Bear Lake, North Logan, Providence, Nibley, Hyde Park, Millville, River Heights, Beaver Mountain, Meadowville, Pickelville, and Lakota. It also includes US Route 89 between mile markers 460 and 502, and Utah Route 30 between mile markers 110 and 123.
What You Should Do
For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Bear Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Large hail and damaging winds, along with continuous cloud-to-ground lightning, are occurring.

Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail (1.25 inches). Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding.
