Flood Warning issued by NWS Blacksburg VA effective from August 2 at 4:20 AM EDT until August 2 at 2:00 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
Portions of north central North Carolina including Surry County and southwest Virginia including Carroll, Floyd and Patrick counties. Specific locations include Mount Airy, Flat Rock, Hillsville, Dobson, Stuart, Floyd and Willis. Impacted streams and drainages include Big Indian Creek, Beaver Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Anglin Branch, Archies Creek and Ararat River.

Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. At 4:17 AM EDT flooding continues as several creeks and rivers remain well out of their banks due to runoff from heavy rain earlier.
