Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV. Effective from June 18, 2026 at 10:06 AM EDT until June 18, 2026 at 4:30 PM EDT. Replaces Flash Flood Warning.
Affected Areas
Athens County in southeastern Ohio; Northern Meigs County in southeastern Ohio; Southwestern Morgan County in southeastern Ohio; East Central Vinton County in southeastern Ohio; West Central Washington County in southeastern Ohio. Specific locations include Athens, Nelsonville, Albany, Chauncey, Buchtel, Amesville, The Plains and Stroud Run State Park.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.
