Flood Warning issued by NWS Huntsville AL. Effective from 2:49 AM CDT until 5:00 AM CDT on August 21, 2026. Replaces previous Flash Flood Warning.

Affected Areas

Northeastern Cullman County, southeastern Madison County, southeastern Morgan County in north central Alabama; DeKalb County, southern Jackson County and Marshall County in northeastern Alabama. Specific locations include Albertville, Scottsboro, Hartselle, Fort Payne, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab, Rainsville, Henagar, Crossville, Sylvania, Owens Cross Roads, Falkville, Fyffe, Powell, Grant, Geraldine, Holly Pond and Section.

What You Should Do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Expected Conditions

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen with up to 1 additional inch possible. Heavy rain is ending but flooding is already occurring.
