...The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Kansas... Mulberry Creek Near Salina affecting Saline County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mulberry Creek near Salina. * WHEN...Until late tonight. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Agricultural flooding can be expected. Parts of Halstead Road near the river gage site, which is west of Salina, will begin to take on water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 22.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 24.9 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
What the agency told people to do
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued this evening at 630 PM CDT.
