Alert Details
Flood Warning issued by NWS Lake Charles LA (NOAA). The alert was sent June 16 at 2:17PM CDT and is in effect from Friday afternoon (June 19 at 1:00PM CDT) until further notice.
Affected Areas
Beauregard Parish, LA; Calcasieu Parish, LA; Newton County, TX; Orange County, TX. Primary focus is the Sabine River near Deweyville.
What You Should Do
Avoid flooded roads. At 25.0 feet, lowest roads beside the river flood around Deweyville and may be closed. Low-lying roads in Southwest Beauregard Parish including Robert Clark Road are flooded. Flooding occurs on the south side of Niblett Bluff Park with access roads cut off. Access roads to the river in Northeastern Orange County become flooded.
Expected Conditions
Minor flooding is forecast. At 1:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 18.0 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood stage (24.0 feet) early Friday afternoon and continue rising to 24.6 feet Saturday evening.
