Flood Warning issued by NWS Jackson MS. Effective from June 18 at 4:07 PM CDT until June 19 at 8:00 AM CDT. The alert is classified as Severe with Likely certainty.
Affected Areas
A portion of central Mississippi, including the following counties: Rankin, Scott, Simpson and Smith. Specific locations that will experience flooding include Forest, Magee, Morton, Mendenhall, Raleigh, Taylorsville, Pelahatchie, Hillsboro, Polkville, D'Lo, Mize, Lake, Puckett, Sebastopol, Harperville, Sylvarena, Burns, Pulaski, Homewood and White Oak.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
Expected Conditions
Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. Between 5 and 7 inches of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.
