What You Should Do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over higher ground.

Expected Conditions

Minor flooding is forecast. At 18.0 feet, the river invades several fields and reaches a few farm buildings. At 21.0 feet, low lying sections of Cooney Hollow Road and Route 783 are affected and some private driveways are flooded.

Timeline

The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 20.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this afternoon. Flood stage is 18.0 feet. The alert expires at 12:00 AM EDT June 20.
