A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans LA. The alert was sent at 9:20 AM CDT on May 23, 2026, and is effective from 9:20 AM CDT on May 23, 2026.

The warning covers St. Tammany Parish, LA; Hancock County, MS; and Pearl River County, MS, specifically for the Pearl River near Pearl River.

Expected Conditions
Minor flooding is forecast. At 14.0 feet, secondary roads to the river and throughout Honey Island Swamp are inundated. Property in the vicinity of the gage is flooded, threatening about 20 homes along the left bank. At 9:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.7 feet. Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
Timeline
The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.0 feet Tuesday morning and remain near flood stage through Wednesday night. It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning. The warning is in effect from Tuesday morning to Thursday morning, ending at 7:00 AM CDT on May 28, 2026.
