A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans LA for the following river in Mississippi: West Hobolochitto Creek Near McNeil affecting Pearl River County. The alert was sent at 7:55 PM CDT on May 8, 2026, and is effective from 7:55 PM CDT May 8 through 11:00 PM CDT May 10.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. School bus traffic may need alternate routes due to water over roads.
Expected Conditions
Minor flooding is forecast. At 6:45 PM CDT Friday the stage was 10.8 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood stage (15.0 feet) late tonight and continue rising to a crest of 17.0 feet tomorrow evening before falling below flood stage Sunday afternoon. At 17.0 feet, some roads in the county will be inundated but passable, homes in Westchester Subdivision will be threatened, and water over a few roads in Picayune will cause traffic problems. Beech Street and Westchester Subdivision below the confluence of the east and west branches will be subject to flooding in low places.
