Alert Details
A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Wichita KS. The alert is effective from Monday morning, June 22 at 7:00 AM CDT, and remains in effect until late Tuesday evening, June 23 at 9:35 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers the Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties; near Erie affecting Neosho County; at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties; and near Chanute affecting Neosho and Allen Counties.
What You Should Do
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Expected Conditions
Minor flooding is forecast. At 8:15 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 15.3 feet and rising. The river is expected to rise above flood stage (29.0 feet) to a crest of 30.2 feet Monday evening before falling below flood stage late Tuesday morning.
