Flood Warning issued by NWS Wichita KS. The alert is in effect from Monday morning June 22 at 9:10 AM CDT to Tuesday evening June 23 at 7:54 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
Montgomery County, KS and Wilson County, KS. Specifically the Verdigris River at Altoona affecting Wilson County and the Verdigris River at Independence affecting Montgomery and Wilson Counties.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Expected Conditions
Minor flooding is forecast. At 36.0 feet some flooding of low lying areas and bottom land can be expected. The river is expected to rise above flood stage of 30.0 feet to a crest of 34.3 feet.
