The warning affects Miami County and Linn County in Kansas, specifically along the Marais Des Cygnes River at Osawatomie, La Cygne, and near Trading Post. It also impacts Bates County in Missouri.

Minor flooding is forecast. At Osawatomie, the river stage is expected to rise above the 28.0-foot flood stage to a crest of 30.5 feet early Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026. At 28.0 feet, low-lying areas begin to flood; at 31.0 feet, 347th Road or Main Street east of Highway 169 is under water.
