Flood Warning issued by NWS Aberdeen SD. Effective from May 31, 2026 at 9:43 PM CDT until June 1 at 9:45 AM CDT.

Affected Areas

McPherson County, including the Leola area, Grassland Colony, Long Lake Colony, Wetonka, and Elm Lake. SD Highway 10 near Leola is under 6 inches to a foot of water.

Expected Conditions

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous basements and roads in the Leola area are flooded.
