Expected Conditions

Flooding caused by an ice jam is expected. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. At 746 AM AKDT, the public reported an ice jam on the Yukon River downriver of Russian Mission. Impounding water due to the ice jam will cause rapid river rises upstream. High water levels upriver will continue to move towards the warning area keeping water levels high and potentially leading to further rises in water levels.
