A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Wichita KS. The alert is effective from June 4 at 12:46 AM CDT and remains in effect until June 5 at 8:59 AM CDT.

What You Should Do
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Moderate flooding is forecast approaching the flood of record. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.0 feet this morning. Flood stage is 21.0 feet. At 24.0 feet, expect flooding of agricultural fields to an extent of 3/4 of a mile coverage. Flood waters cover Highway 284 east of the creek bridge to around 260th Road, with road closure expected. Numerous roads along and near the Salt Creek will flood.
