Flood Warning issued by NWS Wichita KS. Effective from June 18 at 6:43 PM CDT until June 19 at 12:45 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
Kingman, Sedgwick and Sumner counties in south central Kansas. Specific locations include Derby, Haysville, Mulvane, Clearwater, Belle Plaine, Conway Springs, Oxford, Norwich, Viola, Murdock, Riverdale and Wellington Airport.
What You Should Do
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
