A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Chicago IL. The alert is effective from August 15, 2026 at 8:42 PM CDT, with onset at August 16, 2026 at 6:24 AM CDT and expiration at August 16, 2026 at 2:45 PM CDT.

Iroquois County, Illinois. Specifically, Sugar Creek from near Milford downstream to the confluence with the Iroquois River at Watseka, including the Milford gauge.

What You Should Do

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.

Expected Conditions

Minor flooding is forecast. At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.4 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood stage (18.0 feet) tomorrow morning to a crest of 18.7 feet early tomorrow afternoon. At 19.0 feet, structures are threatened in southwest Milford.
