Alert Details
Flood Warning issued by NWS Wichita KS. Effective from June 21 at 11:58 PM CDT until June 22 at 8:00 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
A portion of south central Kansas, including Harper, Kingman and Sumner counties. Some locations that will experience flooding include Anthony, Harper, Caldwell, Argonia, Bluff City, Danville, Freeport, Runnymede, Crystal Springs and Rago.
What You Should Do
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. At 11:58 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
