Flood Warning issued by NWS Goodland KS. Effective from June 21 at 1:51 PM CDT until June 22 at 7:30 AM CDT.

Affected Areas

Portions of northwest and west central Kansas, including Sheridan and Thomas counties in northwest Kansas and Gove county in west central Kansas.

What You Should Do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Expected Conditions

Rainfall accumulations Saturday night totaled up to an estimated 7.5 inches. Between 3.5 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. The Solomon and Saline rivers are out of their banks. Additional rainfall totals look to remain under 1.5 inches.

Timeline

The warning is in effect until 7:30 AM CDT Monday. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Additional storms are expected to move through the area this afternoon and evening.
