Flood Warning issued by NWS Wilmington OH. Effective from August 21 at 9:46 PM EDT until August 22 at 4:00 PM EDT.

Affected Areas

Fairfield County, OH and Licking County, OH. Specifically, South Fork Licking River near I 70 near Buckeye Lake.

Expected Conditions

Major flooding is occurring and forecast. At 8:45 PM EDT Friday the stage was 882.1 feet. Flood stage is 880.0 feet. At 881.7 feet, both eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are likely flooded, which may result in complete shutdown of the interstate. Significant flooding of the KOA campground occurs, as well as Buckeye Lake Estates and other homes and businesses near the river channel.

Timeline

The warning is in effect until Saturday afternoon. The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling, remaining below flood stage.
