Alert Details

A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Mobile AL. The alert is effective from June 19 at 9:44AM CDT and remains in effect until June 20 at 8:00PM CDT.

The warning covers Escambia County, AL and Escambia County, FL, specifically for Big Escambia Creek at Flomaton.

What You Should Do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Expected Conditions

Minor flooding is forecast. At 9:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 18.2 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood stage (19.0 feet) this afternoon to a crest of 19.9 feet just after midnight tonight. At 19.0 feet, water begins to approach several homes on north side of Highway 31.

Timeline

The warning is in effect from this afternoon (onset at 1:00 PM CDT June 19) to Saturday evening (ending June 20 at 8:00 PM CDT). The river is forecast to fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon.
