A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO. This alert is effective from April 17, 2026, at 9:07 AM CDT, with onset at April 18, 2026, at 12:34 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning affects Cooper County, MO, specifically including the Petite Saline Creek near Boonville. It also involves the Blackwater River near Blue Lick (affecting Cooper and Saline Counties), Blackwater River at Valley City (affecting Johnson and Pettis Counties), and Lamine River near Otterville (affecting Cooper County).

Moderate flooding is forecast. The Petite Saline Creek is expected to rise above the flood stage of 16.0 feet just after midnight tonight, cresting at 21.0 feet tomorrow evening. At 16.0 feet, low lying woodlands and fields near the creek will flood. At 19.5 feet, the creek will flood U Highway about 4 miles southeast of Boonville. As of 8:30 AM CDT Friday, the stage was 5.7 feet.
