Flood Warning issued by NWS Topeka KS. Effective from June 1 at 2:21 AM CDT until June 1 at 11:00 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
Coffey and Lyon Counties in Kansas, including Emporia, Burlington, Olpe, Gridley and Le Roy. Impacted highways include Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 117 and 130 and Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 134.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
