A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX. The alert is effective from 2:56 PM CDT on May 27, 2026, with onset at 6:35 PM CDT and expiration at 1:00 AM CDT on May 28, 2026.

Expected Conditions
Minor flooding is forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage (18.0 feet) to a crest of 18.1 feet this evening before falling below flood stage just after midnight. At 2:15 PM CDT the stage was 17.0 feet with bankfull stage at 14.0 feet. Minor lowland flooding begins upstream from the gage, and minor backwater flooding up Peach Creek in Wharton County threatens low-lying areas.
